Meet Your Dentist

Kyle Scott

Dr. Scott was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Brigham Young with a Bachelor of Exercise Science degree. In the middle of his college career, Dr. Scott spent 2 years in Mexico City on a church mission serving the local community. When he returned, he started school at Loma Linda School of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Our Dental Services for Marana Patients

Sahuarita keeps growing, and so do the families in it. Dr. Kyle Scott at Foothills Family Dentistry has been seeing patients from this part of southern Arizona since 1984, handling everything from a toddler’s first visit to a full implant restoration in one office on North Thornydale Road. The drive up I-19 from Rancho Sahuarita or Quail Creek runs 30 to 40 minutes, and for most patients, it beats starting over with someone new every time a different problem comes up.

We see kids, adults, and seniors in the same practice. No referrals for most procedures, no need to coordinate between offices, and a doctor who already knows your family’s dental history, the next time you walk in.

Restorative Dentistry

dental-implants

Dental Implants

A missing tooth does not stay a single problem for long. The bone beneath the gap starts receding, and neighboring teeth begin shifting. We place a titanium post into the jaw, let it bond with the bone over a few months, then attach a crown that sits and functions like the original tooth.

Most of our patients who go through the process say it is the last time they think about that tooth.

dental-bridges

Dental Bridges

A bridge replaces a missing tooth without the longer timeline of an implant. We prepare the teeth on either side, take impressions, and bond the finished bridge at a second visit. It sits permanently, restores the bite, and keeps neighboring teeth from migrating into the space.

Two appointments from start to finish, and nothing is removable or requires special maintenance beyond what you already do.

dentures

Dentures

We design full and partial dentures around your actual anatomy from impressions rather than a generic mold. Partials anchor to whatever healthy teeth remain. Full dentures replace an entire arch and go through fit adjustments until the result is right.

Patients managing loose or uncomfortable older dentures often do not realize how much a well-fitted set changes. Implant-supported options are available if you want a denture that does not shift.

dental-crowns

Dental Crowns

When a tooth has a crack running through it, a filling that takes up most of the structure, or damage that leaves it vulnerable under chewing pressure, a crown brings it back to full function.

Two visits take care of it. First, we shape the tooth and place a temporary. When the permanent crown comes back from the lab, we seat it and verify the fit and bite.

Surgical & Advanced Dental Care

tooth-extractions

Tooth Extractions

When a tooth is past the point of saving, fractured through the root, too decayed to restore, or infected beyond what treatment can reverse, the priority shifts to getting it out cleanly and protecting what surrounds it.

We handle simple and surgical extractions in-office. For patients planning an implant, a bone graft placed on the same day preserves the socket dimensions while the site heals over the following months.

wisdom-teeth-extraction

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Third molars cause problems for most people who still have them, from acute infections to pressure against the adjacent tooth to cysts forming around impacted roots. We take a panoramic X-ray to see the full picture before recommending anything.

Simple erupted cases come out in a single visit. Surgical impactions take more time but are handled in-house for most Sahuarita patients without sending you to an outside oral surgeon.

root-canals

Root Canals

The nerve inside a tooth does not always signal distress obviously. Sometimes it is a lingering ache after something hot, or sudden sensitivity with no clear explanation. Once the pulp is infected, we clean the tooth from the inside out, seal the canals, and place a temporary filling the same day.

Patients from the Sahuarita Lake and Madera Highlands areas call us because we handle most root canals in-house.

gum-disease-treatment

Gum Disease Treatment

Bleeding when you brush is easy to ignore, but it is usually the first sign of gum disease building beneath the surface. We take pocket depth measurements at every checkup to catch changes before bone loss starts.

Early disease responds to a professional cleaning and improved home habits. More advanced cases need scaling and root planing, which we handle here without referring out in most situations.

scaling-and-root-planing

Scaling & Root Planing

Once gum disease has moved past the gumline into the pockets around the supporting bone, a standard cleaning is not enough. We numb the area, clear bacterial deposits from root surfaces below the gumline, then smooth those surfaces so tissue has a clean foundation to reattach.

Healing is tracked at a follow-up, and patients who stay on the shortened maintenance schedule after treatment keep the disease from advancing.

oral-surgery

Oral Surgery

Bone grafts, frenectomies, soft tissue biopsies, and small cyst removal are handled at our office for most patients without routing anyone to a separate surgical practice. Dr. Scott reviews imaging first and walks through what the procedure involves, what the recovery period looks like, and what alternatives are available.

Patients managing chronic health conditions get a direct conversation about how those factors shape the overall plan.

Cosmetic Dentistry & Smile Improvements

veneers

Veneers

Years of use leave marks on teeth and develop chips, staining that resists whitening, or slight wear that changes the look of a smile. Porcelain veneers address all of that.

We prepare the surface, place temporaries, and bond the final lab-fabricated veneers at a second appointment. They resist staining and maintain their appearance for many years. Composite veneers are available for patients who want a same-day result at a lower cost.

teeth-whitening

Teeth Whitening

Teeth pick up staining from the inside over time, and at-home products can only go so far with the concentrations they are formulated at. Professional whitening produces faster, more consistent results across every tooth. In-office treatment takes one appointment.

Custom tray whitening is available for patients who prefer to go more gradually at home. Existing crowns or veneers do not change shade, so we discuss expectations first.

clear-aligners

Clear Aligners

Adults who had braces as teenagers and watched their teeth shift back after dropping the retainer can fix that without anyone noticing. The trays come out when you eat, brush, and floss, making treatment easier to fit into a normal routine.

We use digital scanning, so no physical impressions are needed. Treatment length depends on how much movement is involved and is explained in full before you commit to anything.

General and Preventive Dentistry

dental-cleanings

Dental Cleanings

The hygienist reaches places brushing misses, along the gumline and between contacts where plaque hardens into calculus over time. Dr. Scott follows with a full exam covering cavities, gum changes, bite wear, and anything worth monitoring.

For Sahuarita families with multiple kids to schedule, we try to stack appointments back-to-back so the trip up I-19 is not happening every other week for a different child.

dental-x-rays-and-imaging

Dental X-Rays & Imaging

Decay between teeth, bone loss around roots, cysts, and impacted wisdom teeth are all invisible without imaging. We use digital X-rays that put images on screen in seconds, using a fraction of the radiation older systems required.

Bitewings catch interproximal decay before it gets deep. Panoramic images give us a full jaw view for implant planning and wisdom tooth assessment. Frequency is matched to your history and current risk.

fillings

Fillings

Back molars have deep grooves that are hard to clean thoroughly, and that is where most cavities start. Caught early, it is a short appointment and a small restoration. We use tooth-colored composite that bonds directly to the structure and blends with the surrounding enamel.

Patients from Rancho Sahuarita and Presidio De Las Estrellas who keep their twice-yearly visits almost never need more than a small filling.

Comfortable Dentistry for Children, Adults & Anxious Patients

pediatric-dentistry

Pediatric Dentistry

Sahuarita has a lot of young families, and we see many of them from the first tooth through the teenage years. We go at the child’s pace and explain every step before doing it. A kid who leaves without anxiety grows up taking care of their teeth.

Every visit includes a cleaning, fluoride, and cavity check, with sealants placed on permanent molars early to seal out decay.

dental-emergencies

Dental Emergencies

A broken tooth, an abscess that has been building, or a crown that came off , call (520) 386-0301. We hold same-day slots and assess by phone so you know what to do right away.

Sahuarita patients heading up I-19 arrive at our Thornydale Road office in 30 to 40 minutes. For a knocked-out permanent tooth, keep it in milk and move fast. The window for replanting narrows quickly.

sedation-dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety is common, and we do not treat it as something to push through. Nitrous oxide works through a nose mask, settles nerves in minutes, and clears fast enough to drive home after.

Oral sedation is a prescription taken before the visit for patients who need a deeper level of calm during longer or more involved treatment. We talk through both options and decide together before anything is used.

tmj-treatment

TMJ Treatment

Jaw soreness in the morning, a click when you open wide, or headaches behind the eyes that do not move are worth bringing up rather than waiting out. They often trace back to clenching or grinding during sleep, something most people are completely unaware of.

We check the bite and wear patterns, and build a nightguard fitted to your specific teeth if that is where we begin.
