Meet Your Dentist

Kyle Scott

Dr. Scott was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Brigham Young with a Bachelor of Exercise Science degree. In the middle of his college career, Dr. Scott spent 2 years in Mexico City on a church mission serving the local community. When he returned, he started school at Loma Linda School of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Dental Services for Green Valley Patients

Green Valley residents have been making the drive up I-19 to Foothills Family Dentistry since 1984. Dr. Kyle Scott and the team provide preventive, cosmetic, restorative, and emergency dental care in one office on North Thornydale Road, which means fewer providers, fewer referrals, and a practice that builds a real picture of your oral health over time.

Patients from Canoa Ranch, Rancho del Lago, and the active adult communities throughout the valley are a manageable drive from our office. We see patients at every stage and take the time to explain what we find before anything is scheduled.

Restorative Dentistry

dental-implants

Dental Implants

Missing teeth do more damage than most expect. The jawbone under a gap shrinks, teeth drift, and chewing mechanics shift in ways that stress everything around the space. An implant stops all of that.

We place a post into the bone, let it integrate, then fit a crown on top. For Green Valley patients, implants are often the most practical long-term investment in keeping remaining teeth healthy.

dental-bridges

Dental Bridges

When a tooth is missing and an implant is not the right fit, a bridge is a dependable fixed alternative. We anchor a false tooth to the healthy teeth on either side and cement the unit permanently in place.

Two visits, gap closed, chewing restored, nothing removable. For Green Valley patients managing multiple dental concerns, a bridge addresses a missing tooth efficiently without a lengthy multi-stage process spanning several months.

dentures

Dentures

Full and partial dentures are fitted here, from start to finish. We take impressions of your actual ridge, work with the lab on the design, and adjust the fit at follow-up visits until everything is stable.

Patients who have tolerated shifting or sore older dentures for years find that a properly fitted new set often changes how they eat. Implant-retained dentures are available for patients who want a more locked-in, permanent option.

dental-crowns

Dental Crowns

A crown is right when a tooth has cracked, broken, or been weakened by a large filling that is failing. We shape the tooth, take impressions, and seat the permanent crown once the lab returns it.

Patients with the same metal restorations for decades often find that replacing them with modern ceramic or zirconia makes a noticeable difference in how that part of the mouth feels.

Surgical & Advanced Dental Care

tooth-extractions

Tooth Extractions

Some teeth become too damaged from fractures, infection, or advanced decay to be restored safely anymore. Patients usually contact us after swelling worsens, chewing becomes painful, or pressure starts interrupting sleep at night.

Before treatment, we explain the condition clearly and review replacement options, so you understand what happens next instead of feeling rushed into decisions. Emergency visits commonly involve infected molars, broken teeth, or older root canal teeth that failed years later.

wisdom-teeth-extraction

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Partially erupted third molars left in place for decades can become infected or begin damaging the tooth beside them as gum and bone change with age. We take panoramic X-rays to assess the roots before making any recommendations.

Cases that can be handled here stay here. Patients near Madera Canyon who have been watching a problem tooth for years often find that finally removing it brings lasting relief from recurring soreness.

root-canals

Root Canals

Most patients needing root canal treatment already deal with throbbing pain, lingering sensitivity, or pressure while chewing. We first confirm which tooth is causing the infection because pain sometimes spreads across nearby areas unexpectedly. Once treatment begins, we focus on removing infection while preserving healthy tooth structure whenever possible.

Many patients arrive expecting a painful experience, but leave surprised by how manageable modern root canal treatment feels compared with the older stories they heard growing up.

gum-disease-treatment

Gum Disease Treatment

Medications for blood pressure and cholesterol reduce saliva flow, which lets bacteria accumulate faster than they used to. Green Valley patients face this risk more than most, and we track pocket depths at every visit to catch changes early.

Gingivitis responds well to a thorough cleaning. Active periodontitis needs scaling and root planing to clear the infection, and we handle that here without a referral in most cases.

scaling-and-root-planing

Scaling & Root Planing

When tartar and bacteria spread below the gumline, routine cleanings stop reaching the deeper infected areas effectively. Patients often notice bleeding while brushing, tenderness near certain teeth, or buildup returning quickly after hygiene visits.

Scaling and root planing removes bacteria around the roots more thoroughly to reduce inflammation and protect bone support. We also explain where plaque collects most because healthy gums depend heavily on consistent brushing, flossing, and preventive dental care habits.

oral-surgery

Oral Surgery

Some dental problems involve severe infections, broken teeth below the gumline, or bone damage that simpler procedures cannot fully repair. Before surgery, we review imaging, medications, healing concerns, and surrounding teeth carefully so treatment stays predictable afterwards.

Many patients appreciate completing evaluations and surgical care in one office instead of driving between different providers. We also discuss recovery expectations clearly so you understand what daily activities and meals realistically feel like afterwards.

Cosmetic Dentistry & Smile Improvements

veneers

Veneers

Teeth that have chipped, yellowed, worn short, or shifted over the years are good veneer candidates. Porcelain veneers are lab-fabricated to the shape and shade you want, bonded to the front of the tooth naturally.

During prep, we remove a thin enamel layer and place temporaries while the lab works. Composite veneers are built directly on the tooth in one chairside visit for faster results at a lower upfront cost.

teeth-whitening

Teeth Whitening

Decades of coffee, tea, and natural darkening leave teeth considerably duller than they started. Professional whitening uses a much stronger peroxide concentration than any pharmacy product, producing faster and more even results across all the teeth.

In-office treatment gets you there in one appointment. Custom take-home trays lighten gradually for patients who prefer that pace. Neither option changes the shade of existing crowns or veneers already in the mouth.

clear-aligners

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners correct crowding and spacing without metal hardware, and the trays come out for meals and brushing. That removability matters for patients managing gum health carefully.

Many Green Valley patients in their sixties and seventies who assumed orthodontic treatment was behind them find they are good aligner candidates. Treatment length depends on how much movement is needed and is mapped out at the initial consultation.

General and Preventive Dentistry

dental-cleanings

Dental Cleanings

Preventive care is what keeps everything else from compounding. We remove calculus between visits, clean below the gumline, and Dr. Scott checks gum tissue, bone levels, and bite wear each time.

Patients on medications that reduce saliva benefit from more frequent visits than the standard twice-yearly schedule. We set the interval around your actual risk profile and history rather than applying the same timeline to every patient.

dental-x-rays-and-imaging

Dental X-Rays & Imaging

Digital X-rays show what a visual exam cannot: bone levels around roots, decay forming between teeth, and changes worth addressing early. Bitewings are taken annually for most patients. Panoramic images go wider for implant planning and full jaw assessment.

The digital format keeps radiation low and images appear instantly on screen. For patients without recent X-rays, the first set often reveals things worth addressing before they grow.

fillings

Fillings

Tooth-colored composite fillings bond to the tooth and blend in naturally. Old amalgam restorations that are cracking, leaking, or causing sensitivity can be replaced at a routine visit. We remove the failing material, clear decay underneath, and place composite in layers that are cured and polished to match.

Patients from Desert Hills and Desert Meadows who come in regularly rarely need more than a small filling when something develops.

Comfortable Dentistry for Children, Adults & Anxious Patients

pediatric-dentistry

Pediatric Dentistry

Green Valley skews older, but grandchildren visit, and younger families live throughout the broader area. We welcome children and take first visits without rushing. Kids get a cleaning, fluoride, and cavity check each time.

We explain each instrument before using it, which helps young patients who arrive nervous. Sealants on permanent molars protect the grooves before decay starts. A child who leaves without fear keeps coming back.

dental-emergencies

Dental Emergencies

Pain, a broken tooth, a crown that came off, or swelling that is worsening: call (520) 386-0301. We triage by phone and hold same-day slots for situations that cannot wait.

Green Valley patients who call early in the morning have the best chance of being seen that day. For a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist in milk and head up I-19. The first hour is what matters.

sedation-dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

We offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation for patients who need extra comfort getting through treatment. Nitrous works through a mask and clears before you leave.

Oral sedation is a prescription taken before the visit for deeper calm during longer procedures. Both keep you conscious and responsive throughout. We decide together which fits based on what is being done and how you usually handle dental visits.

tmj-treatment

TMJ Treatment

Jaw pain, a click when you open, headaches near the temples, or waking with a sore face are worth mentioning at your next visit. These symptoms usually trace back to nighttime clenching that goes unnoticed until the joint or teeth show wear.

A custom nightguard built to your bite takes the pressure off during sleep. Patients who have lived with this for years are often surprised by how treatable it is.
