Dental Services We Offer in Catalina Foothills
We see patients across every stage of life, from children coming in for their first cleaning to adults catching up on years of delayed dental work and retirees trying to protect older crowns, bridges, or implants. Many people visit us because they want straightforward answers, consistent care, and a dental office that handles everything in one place instead of sending them across different offices for treatment.
Before treatment begins, we explain what we see on your X-rays, what is causing the discomfort or damage, and which options make the most sense for your situation. Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, and most major insurance plans are accepted, and we also help patients understand costs before treatment starts so there are fewer surprises later.
Restorative Dentistry

Dental Implants
If you have a missing tooth, an implant is the closest thing to getting the real one back. We place a titanium post into the jaw, let it fuse with the bone over several months, then attach a custom crown. It chews right, looks right, and keeps the surrounding bone from shrinking over time. Patients who have had a gap for years are often surprised by how natural it feels.

Dental Bridges
A bridge fills the space left by a missing tooth by anchoring a false tooth to the healthy teeth on either side, cemented permanently in place. Most patients need two appointments to complete it. The first preps the anchor teeth and captures impressions. The second seat the finished permanent bridge. It restores normal chewing and stops neighboring teeth from slowly drifting into the open gap.

Dentures
Full and partial dentures are available here, fitted around your specific anatomy so they sit comfortably and look natural from day one. Partials attach to whatever healthy teeth remain. Full dentures rest against the gum tissue with a proper seal.
If you want something more stable, implant-supported dentures anchor the plate firmly in place and eliminate most movement issues that come with traditional removable dentures.

Dental Crowns
A crown goes over a tooth that is too far gone to hold a regular filling. Cracked, broken down, or just worn through over time. We take impressions, place a temporary while the permanent one is made, then seat it at a second visit.
Porcelain matches naturally for front teeth. For back teeth where bite pressure is heavier, zirconia holds up better and lasts longer for most patients.
Surgical & Advanced Dental Care

Tooth Extractions
Most extractions are simple. We numb the area, loosen the tooth, and remove it cleanly in one appointment. Surgical extractions come into play when a tooth has broken at the gumline or the roots are curved in a way that complicates removal.
We place bone grafts at the same appointment when a future implant is planned. Most patients are back to their normal routine within a couple of days.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom teeth often create pressure, swelling, trapped food areas, and jaw soreness before they fully erupt. We review digital X rays carefully to check positioning, nearby roots, and signs of infection before planning removal.
Many families schedule evaluations before college, travel, or orthodontic treatment begins so problems do not turn into emergencies later. Patients also commonly ask about recovery time, swelling, and how quickly they can comfortably return to normal meals afterward.

Root Canals
Most patients needing root canal treatment are already dealing with throbbing pain, lingering sensitivity, or pressure while chewing. We first confirm where the infection is coming from because not every painful tooth actually requires a root canal.
Once treatment begins, we focus on removing infection while preserving the tooth structure whenever possible. Many people are surprised modern root canal treatment feels much easier than the older stories and experiences they heard growing up.

Gum Disease Treatment
Bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and gum recession are usually signs that inflammation has already been developing for some time. We measure gum pockets carefully and review digital imaging to see how much support the teeth still have.
Many patients come in after hearing they need periodontal treatment but were never clearly shown where the infection is located. Our focus is reducing inflammation early before bone loss and loose teeth become harder to manage.

Scaling & Root Planing
When tartar and bacteria collect below the gumline, routine cleanings cannot fully reach the deeper infected areas anymore. Patients often notice bleeding while flossing, tenderness near certain teeth, or buildup returning quickly after brushing.
Scaling and root planing help clean the roots more thoroughly to reduce inflammation and protect bone support around the teeth. We also explain where plaque buildup is collecting because long term gum stability depends heavily on home care habits.

Oral Surgery
Some dental problems involve severe infections, broken teeth below the gumline, or bone loss that cannot be treated with simpler procedures alone. Before surgery, we carefully review imaging, medications, healing concerns, and the condition of surrounding teeth so there are fewer surprises afterward.
Patients often appreciate being able to complete evaluations and treatment in one office instead of driving between multiple specialists for different parts of the procedure and recovery process.
Cosmetic Dentistry & Smile Improvements

Veneers
Small chips, worn enamel edges, uneven spacing, and deeper staining can slowly change the appearance of your smile over time. Many patients ask us for cosmetic improvements that still look natural and fit comfortably with their facial features.
Before planning veneers, we review tooth shape, bite movement, and overall smile balance carefully. Patients often want a cleaner, brighter appearance without their teeth looking overly white, bulky, or noticeably artificial in everyday conversations.

Teeth Whitening
Coffee, tea, wine, smoking, and natural enamel aging gradually darken teeth over the years. Many patients try whitening strips first, but become frustrated with uneven results or increased sensitivity afterward.
We help determine which whitening option makes the most sense based on enamel condition and the type of staining present. Professional whitening can brighten deeper discoloration more evenly while helping you avoid the patchy appearance common with many store bought products.

Clear Aligners
Crowded or uneven teeth can slowly affect both appearance and the way your bite functions daily. Many patients ask about straightening options after noticing shifting, overlapping teeth, or spaces becoming more visible over time. Clear aligners offer a more flexible alternative for adults and teens who do not want traditional brackets and wires. Before treatment, we evaluate bite alignment carefully because straight teeth should still feel comfortable while chewing and speaking naturally.
General & Preventive Dental Care

Dental Cleanings
A cleaning here is not just a polish. We scale off the calculus that builds between visits, clean below the gumline where a brush cannot reach, and Dr. Scott checks for cavities, early gum changes, and anything that should not be there.
Most insurance plans cover two cleanings per year at no cost. Staying current helps you avoid the larger procedures that pile up when visits get skipped.

Dental X-Rays & Imaging
We use digital X-rays, which produce a fraction of the radiation of older film systems and appear on screen the moment each image is taken. Bitewing X-rays catch cavities between teeth well before they are visible during a standard exam.
Panoramic images cover the full jaw in one shot, used for implant planning and early bone loss detection. Frequency is adjusted around your personal history.

Fillings
Tooth-colored composite resin is what we use for cavities. The decay comes out, resin goes in layers, each one cured before the next, then shaped and polished to match the surrounding tooth. No metal, no contrast. Small cavities caught at a routine exam take about 30 minutes to fill.
Patients from the Pusch Ridge area who come in regularly rarely need anything beyond a filling.
Comfortable Dentistry for Children, Adults & Anxious Patients

Pediatric Dentistry
Children usually feel more comfortable when dental visits are calm, familiar, and easy to understand. We focus on helping kids build healthy habits while monitoring bite development, spacing, enamel strength, and cavity risk as they grow.
Many parents appreciate being able to schedule care for the whole family in one office instead of coordinating appointments at different locations. Preventive visits also give us opportunities to catch smaller concerns before they become painful or more expensive later.

Dental Emergencies
A broken tooth, a crown that came off, pain that will not quit, or swelling that keeps getting worse. Call us. We keep same-day slots open for emergencies and triage by phone so you know right away whether to come in immediately or wait until morning.
Patients from the Honeybee Canyon area and along Oracle Road reach our Thornydale Road office in under 20 minutes.

Sedation Dentistry
If you have been avoiding the dentist because of nerves, nitrous oxide is the simplest option. It works through a small nose mask, takes effect in a few minutes, and wears off fast enough to drive home after.
Oral sedation is available for longer procedures or deeper calm. You stay awake and able to respond. Most patients say sedation completely changes how they feel about coming in.

TMJ Treatment
Jaw pain, a click when you open wide, headaches near your temples, or waking up with a sore jaw are all worth bringing up at your next visit. Most of this traces back to clenching or grinding at night.
A custom nightguard takes pressure off the joint while you sleep. For most patients in the District 16 area, it makes a real difference within a few weeks.
