Meet Your Dentist

Kyle Scott

Dr. Scott was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Brigham Young with a Bachelor of Exercise Science degree. In the middle of his college career, Dr. Scott spent 2 years in Mexico City on a church mission serving the local community. When he returned, he started school at Loma Linda School of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Our Dental Care Services in Casas Adobes

Casas Adobes is one of those neighborhoods where people put down roots and stay. Long-term homeowners, families who have been here for decades, professionals who moved in and never left. Foothills Family Dentistry fits right into that picture. Dr. Kyle Scott has been practicing on North Thornydale Road since 1984, and a good portion of the patient base has been coming in for nearly as long. If you live anywhere along La Cholla, Oracle Road, or Ina Road, you are a few minutes from the office.

We handle general, cosmetic, restorative, and emergency dental care for patients of all ages without routing anyone to a specialist for most procedures. Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, and most major plans are accepted.

Restorative Dentistry

dental-implants

Dental Implants

When a tooth is gone, the bone underneath starts to go with it. The jaw changes shape over time, and the teeth around the gap shift into the space. An implant replaces the root itself.

We place a post, let it fuse to the bone over a few months, then fit a crown on top. It becomes part of how your mouth functions, not something resting on the surface.

dental-bridges

Dental Bridges

When an implant is not the right fit, a bridge closes the gap permanently without the extended process. The teeth on either side are shaped to hold the unit, and the whole thing is cemented at the second visit.

It functions like a normal tooth, stays in place, and asks nothing more of you than what you are already doing to care for your other teeth.

dentures

Dentures

We design and fit full dentures, partial dentures, and implant-retained dentures, and we reline and repair older sets that have started fitting poorly. Everything is built from impressions of your actual ridge, so the fit reflects your anatomy.

Adjustments happen over multiple visits until the denture is stable and comfortable. If something you are wearing now shifts or causes soreness, bring it in, and we will assess what is going on.

dental-crowns

Dental Crowns

Teeth that crack, break, or carry fillings that have taken over most of the structure are at real risk of splitting under normal chewing pressure. A crown covers the whole tooth and takes that risk away.

We shape it, take impressions, and place a temporary at the first visit. The permanent crown comes back from the lab and gets seated and adjusted at the second.

Surgical & Advanced Dental Care

tooth-extractions

Tooth Extractions

Some teeth become too damaged from infection, fractures, or advanced decay to be restored safely anymore. Patients usually contact us once swelling worsens, chewing becomes painful, or pressure starts interrupting sleep during the night.

Before treatment, we explain the condition clearly and review replacement options so you understand the next steps comfortably. Emergency visits often involve cracked molars, infected wisdom teeth, or older root canal teeth that failed years after previous dental treatment was completed.

wisdom-teeth-extraction

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Third molars that are impacted, erupting sideways, or sitting against adjacent roots are a common source of recurring pain for adults who still have them. We take panoramic imaging to map the root position before planning anything.

Erupted cases are handled in one appointment. Impacted cases require more precision but are managed here at our office for most Casas Adobes patients without an outside surgical referral.

root-canals

Root Canals

Tooth pain that wakes you up, heat sensitivity that lingers, or a toothache that comes and goes for weeks without settling, these are signs the pulp inside has been compromised. We remove the infected tissue, clean and seal the canals, and place a temporary filling before you leave.

A crown follows at a later appointment. Patients along the La Cholla corridor call us because we handle lcomplete root canals in-house.

gum-disease-treatment

Gum Disease Treatment

Most patients who have gum disease do not know it yet. Bleeding written off as normal brushing pressure, gums that have pulled back slightly, these are the early signs.

We measure pocket depths at every checkup to catch it before bone loss starts. Mild disease turns around with a thorough cleaning and better home habits. Active periodontitis needs scaling and root planing, which we do here for most patients.

scaling-and-root-planing

Scaling & Root Planing

Once gum disease has moved below the gumline, the bacteria responsible are on root surfaces that no brushing reaches. We numb the area and remove the calcified deposits, then smooth the root surfaces so tissue has a clean foundation to heal against.

Most patients split it across two visits, one side at a time. A follow-up lets us measure how the pockets have responded and confirm the tissue is reattaching.

oral-surgery

Oral Surgery

Bone grafts, biopsies of irregular soft tissue, frenectomies, and small cyst removal are handled at our office for most patients without routing anyone to a separate surgical practice.

Dr. Scott looks at imaging first, walks through what the procedure involves and what recovery looks like, and checks for any health factors that could change the approach. Nothing gets scheduled before you have the full picture.

Cosmetic Dentistry & Smile Improvements

veneers

Veneers

Teeth that have held up structurally but show chips, persistent staining, uneven edges, or proportions that have shifted are good veneer candidates. Porcelain veneers are lab-made to the shade and shape discussed at the consultation, then bonded to the front of the tooth at a second appointment.

The surface resists staining well and holds its appearance for years. Composite veneers are placed in one chairside visit.

teeth-whitening

Teeth Whitening

The staining that builds from coffee, wine, tea, and time sits in the enamel at a level over-the-counter products were not designed to reach. Professional whitening uses a significantly higher concentration of active gel and works more evenly across every tooth.

A single in-office session delivers immediate results. Custom take-home trays build the change gradually. Neither affects the color of crowns or veneers already in the mouth.

clear-aligners

Clear Aligners

Teeth shift over time, and crowding that returns after years without a retainer is something adults bring up often when they want to change something. Clear aligners correct it without metal hardware.

The trays come out for meals, brushing, and whenever you want them out. We map the movement digitally and check in at intervals to confirm teeth are tracking. Most mild-to-moderate cases close in under a year.

General and Preventive Dentistry

dental-cleanings

Dental Cleanings

Regular cleanings remove the calculus that forms at the gumline and between teeth where brushing does not reach, the same spots where gum disease and decay tend to start. Dr. Scott follows with a full exam covering gum tissue, cavity development, bite wear, and soft tissue changes.

For longtime Casas Adobes patients, that continuity means small changes get caught early because we already know what your baseline looks like.

dental-x-rays-and-imaging

Dental X-Rays & Imaging

Digital X-rays show what a visual exam misses on its own, including bone levels around roots, cavities forming between teeth, unerupted teeth, and density changes that develop over time. Images appear on screen immediately and use far less radiation than older film systems.

Bitewing X-rays are taken annually to catch interproximal decay early. Panoramic images give us a full jaw view for implant planning, bone assessment, and wisdom tooth evaluation.

fillings

Fillings

Cavities caught early stay small, and a small one is a short appointment with a simple restoration. We use tooth-colored composite resin that bonds to the tooth structure and matches the surrounding enamel.

The material is placed in layers and cured before shaping and polishing. Patients near Tohono Chul who keep their twice-yearly visits rarely need anything more complex than this when something comes up.

Comfortable Dentistry for Children, Adults & Anxious Patients

pediatric-dentistry

Pediatric Dentistry

Families in Casas Adobes have been bringing their kids here long enough that some of those kids now bring their own. We see children from their first tooth through the teenage years, going at each patient’s pace before doing anything.

Cleanings, fluoride, cavity checks, and early sealants on the permanent molars are the routine. Kids who start young rarely build the anxiety that makes dental care harder for adults.

dental-emergencies

Dental Emergencies

A cracked tooth at dinner, sudden swelling that was not there in the morning, a filling out before a long weekend, call (520) 386-0301. We hold same-day slots for situations that cannot wait and triage by phone so you know right away what to do.

Casas Adobes patients are a short drive from our North Thornydale Road office. A knocked-out permanent tooth needs to reach us within an hour.

sedation-dentistry

Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety keeps more people out of the chair than most people realize, and we hear it regularly from patients across Casas Adobes. Nitrous oxide works through a nose mask, takes hold in minutes, and clears before you leave the chair.

Oral sedation is a prescription taken before the visit for a significantly deeper level of calm. We talk through both and decide together what fits the situation.

tmj-treatment

TMJ Treatment

The jaw joint rarely announces problems the way a toothache does. More often, it is a pattern, a sore face in the morning, a click that has been there for months, headaches behind the temples. Most of it connects to grinding or clenching during sleep.

We check the bite, look at wear patterns, and build a nightguard fitted to your specific teeth if that is the right starting point.
